My name is Catherine Barrios, and before I was the Founder & Executive Director of Honest Auto Help Foundation, Inc I was a mom with a broken car and a broken heart. I know the gut-punch feeling of turning the key and hearing... nothing. I know the math we do in our heads, the choice between a mechanic’s bill and the rent. I know the shame of telling your boss you can’t make it in, and the exhaustion of dragging your kids onto expensive Ubers just so they don’t miss school.

I didn’t just study 'transportation poverty.' I lived it.

As a Panamanian-American, my culture taught me that we don't leave our neighbors behind. That’s why I founded Unidos Auto Help. I wanted to build the bridge I didn’t have when I was struggling. To our Veterans who served us: You shouldn't have to fight a broken car after fighting for our country. To our Families in Smyrna and beyond: Your dreams shouldn't stop just because your tires did.
